Beech Acres Parenting Center will celebrate 175 years of helping children and families, by throwing the biggest, brightest birthday bash in town – For the Love of Kids聽鈥 a festive takeover of Washington Park in downtown Cincinnati from noon-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, free and open to everyone. Free pizza and cupcakes, inflatables and other fun family activities will circle the park. For the Love of Kids聽will commemorate Beech Acres鈥 175 years of growing loving family connections. Beech Acres parenting experts will be on hand to share strength-based tips for families.

鈥淏eech Acres has nurtured love in the community since 1849, and now that we鈥檝e reached an incredible 175 years, a public party is the perfect way to celebrate our generations of work to help children reach their endless potential,鈥 said Laura Mitchell, president and CEO, Beech Acres. 鈥淒espite all the changes around us, our north star has always been to strive toward strong families and a strong future for us all.鈥

Also scheduled to appear at For the Love of Kids will be mascots from the Reds and FC Cincinnati, live music from the String Theory Band, an animal encounter from the Cincinnati Zoo, and the Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Parks, YMCA, Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, LifeCenter Organ Donor Network and more.

In addition to the free food and music, Beech Acres will have activities centered on its unique Natural Strength Parenting approach, including strength-based art projects, bingo聽and other fun. In the Hot Topics area at the Washington Park gazebo, Beech Acres parenting specialists will take questions from adults and children about family relationships, such as managing screen time and building strength-based parenting habits.

For 175 years, Beech Acres has helped to create tens of thousands of love stories in people touched by its loving support for children and families. First as an historic home for orphans, and today through foster and kinship care, adoption services, parent resources, and student behavioral support available through schools, health care centers and directly with Beech Acres, the organization has evolved over time to meet the changing needs of families.
